Cirkus Letná was originally build by Emil Wacker as Circus Apollo and openend on the 3rd of May 1944. From 1939 Czechoslovakia was occupied by Nazi Germany. After the second World War the territory was no longer German but Czechoslovakia. It was nationalised and opened as Cirkus Letná on the 1st of September 1945. Two years later a fire would destroy the circus.
